High School Youth Group – Eikon

Eikon is the high-school aged ministry at St. Mark. We meet weekly on Sunday nights from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Discipleship Center, lower level during the school year. From 5:30 – 6:00 p.m., we share a meal provided by members of the group and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. we focus on one of the letters of the acronym F.L.O.W.
[Fellowship]LOW: On fellowship nights we focus specifically on building the relationships within our group and reaching out to new people. We do this through exploring real life situations and how our faith can influence the way we approach choices in our life. We also play games, pray with and for each other, and may even head offsite for a fun activity!
F[Learning]OW: On learning nights we focus on diving deeply into scripture to improve our knowledge of what the Lord has called us into the world for. We may take a high level look at how the Bible is arranged, look at a book, or choose a question and see how different bible verses try to answer it. The goal of learning nights is for us to all improve our ability to relate the scriptures to our everyday lives.
FL[Outreach]W: On outreach nights we get the chance to put our faith into practice. Whether we are serving a meal at a shelter, shopping for a family’s needs, or helping prepare for a larger church activity, Outreach is when we take the opportunity to be the hands and feet of God.
FLO[Worship]: On worship nights we take a step back to spend time thanking God for all he has given us. We get to sing songs, spend time in prayer, and hear a message about how God has been present in someone’s life. Worship is our opportunity to rest in God’s grace and take a break from our busy lives.
